Teen makeup brands have grown 7% in the last 2 years, although this market is rapidly increasing there isn’t a brand in which specifically helps to guide girls. The brand’s intention is to guide teens through a phase where style becomes important and makeup becomes experimental. Mini-Milk wants to address and tackle negative thoughts about makeup in girls of a young age. By promoting the right reasons for using makeup, Mini-Milk aims to help the future generation to see makeup as a ‘fun creative part of growing up’.

Newman’s initial inspiration came from research undertaken for her dissertation; where she explored how modern day beauty ideals were affecting the way women perceive their ‘imperfections’. This exploration revealed the shocking effects which the beauty industry is having on the next generation. She became intrigued by how girls today are identifying themselves purely based on appearance with makeup having such a prominent impact on their lives.
