Delicate and pure, a floral cascade falls over the cheeks, collarbone, and lips, creating a poetic gesture towards whimsical English gardens.
Earth is one of four classical elements that are linked to alchemic concepts, which are seen as expressions of the intricate components of the universe. Earth is understood to be the heaviest element out of the four, holding an association with the sensual aspects of life and death.
Linking this idea to the life cycle allows exploration with regards to definition and context of the element earth. For example, what aspects and how many layers are there to this element, and why is earth the element that is frequently linked with life and death? With this in mind, the idea of earth creating and withholding life has been investigated through the use of floral textures, creating a decorative analogy to the ideas of life and rebirth.
