Moore created a series of photographs whilst using himself as the sole subject matter, looking to how one views oneself. By using himself as the subject, he has made a space where he can convey his human emotions as naturally as possible. He believes that showing these emotions are the key to this piece of work, as having the images as close to real feelings has given them more depth. This work which was originally set out to be a series of images featuring a female subject tied up soon changed when the images became sexualised and the subject of the photograph was taken out of context. What originally inspired the work was his interest in Shibari rope art and in tying people up, but soon he started to look at the submissive and dominating relationship between photographer and model, but by becoming both, a new dynamic was created. The only thing that made him dislike the images was the subject matter, himself. This led to Moore going further down the path of looking at his body and reflecting on how we can drive ourselves crazy with self-obsession, and how we can trap ourselves in our heads, slightly pushing us further from reality each day.
Body Bound, we are all bound to the body we are born in, some people choose to change their body image whilst some people choose not to, all is equal, and all is fair.
